Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how "Poker in iMessage" ("the App," "we," "us") handles information when you use our iMessage game. The App is an iMessage extension — it runs inside Messages and does not have its own separate account system outside of what's described below.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information needed to run the game:

  • Username / display name: a name you choose (or that's pulled from your iMessage/Game Center profile, if applicable) so other players in the game can identify you.
  • Gameplay data: records of hands played, actions taken, chip counts, and game results, used to run the game session, keep score, and display game history.

We do not collect your real name, phone number, email address, or Messages contents/contacts beyond what iMessage itself shares with the extension to let it function (e.g., which conversation/group you're playing in).

2. Virtual Currency — No Real Money

All chips, points, or currency used in the App are virtual only. They have no cash value, cannot be redeemed for real money or prizes, and the App does not process real-money transactions, gambling, or in-app purchases.

⚡ Important Notice: Poker in iMessage is strictly a social game played with virtual entertainment chips. It involves zero real-money wagering or financial payouts.

3. How We Use Information

  • To operate and display the poker game between players in an iMessage conversation
  • To maintain scores, chip counts, and game history within a session
  • To fix bugs and improve the App

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or third-party marketing.

4. Data Sharing

Your username and gameplay data are visible to the other participants in the same iMessage conversation/game session, since that's how the game works. We do not share this data with third parties, except:

  • Apple, insofar as the App runs as an iMessage/Game Center extension and Apple's own platform policies apply
  • If required by law

5. Data Storage & Retention

Game data (usernames and gameplay logs) is stored on our backend, hosted via Supabase. Supabase stores data on servers in Oregon, USA and acts as our database provider — it does not use your data for its own purposes. We retain this data for as long as needed to operate the game and improve the App, or until you request deletion.

6. Your Choices

You can stop using the App at any time by removing the iMessage extension. To request deletion of your stored data, contact us at the email below.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
